Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Introduction

Nexper Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our", "Company", or "Nexper") operates the Vector Studio application and associated websites. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use Vector Studio.

Vector Studio is designed as a local-first application. This means your code, specifications, and project files remain on your machine by default. We do not access, store, or log your project data on our servers. However, when you configure Vector Studio to use third-party AI providers or services, data transmission to those providers is governed by their privacy policies.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

API Keys and Credentials: When you configure Vector Studio to use third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google), you provide API keys and authentication credentials. These credentials are stored locally on your machine in Vector Studio's configuration directory (.vector/ or similar) and are never transmitted to Nexper servers. We do not have access to, store, log, or monitor these credentials.

Contact Information: If you contact us for support, feedback, or legal inquiries, we collect information you provide in your message, including name, email address, and message content.

Configuration Settings: Vector Studio may store your preferences, configuration choices, and workflow settings locally on your machine.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Application Usage: Vector Studio does not collect telemetry or usage analytics by default. If you opt in to optional analytics (if available), we may collect aggregated, anonymized data about feature usage, error frequencies, and performance metrics. This data does not include project content, code snippets, or personally identifiable information.

System Information: If an error occurs, Vector Studio may generate a local crash report or debug log that includes system information (OS version, app version, memory state) to help diagnose issues. These logs are stored locally and are not transmitted unless you explicitly choose to share them.

Website Analytics: If you visit vectoride.com, we may use analytics tools (such as privacy-respecting analytics) to understand website usage patterns. This may include pages visited, referral sources, and general geographic information, but does not identify you personally.

2.3 Information NOT Collected

We explicitly do NOT collect, store, or have access to:

  • Your project code or files (they remain on your machine).
  • Specifications, prompts, or development workflows you create.
  • Terminal commands executed in Vector Studio.
  • Git history or repository contents.
  • API keys, authentication tokens, or credentials (except as stored locally by you).
  • SSH keys or other security credentials.
  • Personal or sensitive data within your projects.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Service: To deliver Vector Studio functionality and customer support.
  • Improvement: To understand how Vector Studio is used and to improve features, performance, and user experience.
  • Security: To detect, prevent, and address security issues, fraud, and technical problems.
  • Communications: To respond to your inquiries, provide support, and send service updates (if you opt in).
  • Compliance: To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service.
  • Analytics: To analyze aggregated, anonymized data to understand trends and improve our services.

4. Data Transmission to Third-Party AI Providers

When you use Vector Studio with an external AI provider, your interactions are governed by that provider's privacy policy and terms of service. Important details:

  • Direct Transmission: When you send code, specifications, or context to an AI provider through Vector Studio, that data is transmitted directly from your machine to the provider's API endpoints. Nexper does not act as an intermediary and does not store this data on our servers.
  • Provider Responsibility: Each AI provider is responsible for how they collect, use, store, and protect your data. You should review their privacy policy before using their service.
  • Your Responsibility: You are responsible for understanding each provider's data handling practices and ensuring you comply with all applicable confidentiality agreements, employment policies, and data protection laws before sending sensitive information to any provider.
  • Sensitive Data: Do not send proprietary, confidential, or sensitive information (such as credentials, personal data, trade secrets, or regulated data) to AI providers unless you have reviewed their privacy policy and obtained necessary approvals.

4.1 Supported Providers and Their Privacy Policies

Vector Studio may integrate with the following providers. You are responsible for reviewing their privacy policies:

  • Anthropic (Claude): https://www.anthropic.com/privacy
  • OpenAI (GPT): https://openai.com/privacy
  • Google (Gemini): https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Other Providers: If you configure additional AI providers, you are responsible for reviewing their privacy policies.

5. Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers and Integrations

Vector Studio supports integration with MCP servers and other third-party tools you configure (databases, APIs, version control systems, etc.). When you connect these services:

  • Data transmission to these services is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.
  • You are responsible for configuring these integrations securely and understanding their data handling practices.
  • Nexper does not monitor, log, or control communications between Vector Studio and third-party services.
  • Nexper is not responsible for how third-party services handle your data.

6. Git and Version Control Integration

Vector Studio integrates with git and other version control systems on your machine:

  • Vector Studio reads git history, repository state, and file contents locally.
  • If you push changes to remote repositories (GitHub, GitLab, etc.), those services' privacy policies apply.
  • Nexper does not access or log any git-related data.

7. Data Security

Local Storage: Your configuration data, API keys, and local application state are encrypted at rest using your machine's built-in encryption (if enabled). We recommend enabling full-disk encryption on your machine.

In-Transit Encryption: When Vector Studio transmits data to external providers, all communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption. Communication between Vector Studio and your local services uses secure protocols.

No Nexper Servers: Nexper does not maintain servers that store your project data, code, or credentials. Your sensitive information does not pass through Nexper's infrastructure.

Machine Security: Vector Studio's security depends on your machine's security. You are responsible for maintaining a secure operating system, enabling firewalls, and protecting your machine from unauthorized access.

8. Data Retention

Local Data: Configuration data and local state remain on your machine until you delete Vector Studio or manually clear the .vector/ directory.

Contact Data: If you contact us for support, we may retain your contact information and correspondence to provide support, improve our service, and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of this data.

Analytics Data: If you opt in to analytics, we retain aggregated, anonymized data as long as necessary to improve Vector Studio.

Third-Party Data: Data sent to third-party providers is retained according to their privacy policies and terms of service. Contact the provider directly for data deletion requests.

We comply with applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction. If you have questions about how we comply with your local privacy laws, contact us.

12. Children's Privacy

16. Specific Privacy Features of Vector Studio

16.1 Offline Operation

Vector Studio can be used offline for local development tasks. No data transmission occurs unless you explicitly configure integrations with external services.

16.2 Local Configuration

All API keys and configuration data are stored in configuration files on your machine. Review these files periodically to understand what data is stored locally.

16.3 Transparency Controls

Vector Studio provides controls to review which services you have authorized, what data they have access to, and the ability to revoke access at any time.

16.4 No Telemetry by Default

Usage analytics and telemetry are disabled by default. You can choose to enable them or keep them disabled.

17. Third-Party Links

Vector Studio may contain links to third-party websites, including AI provider sites and documentation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these sites. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before interacting with them.

18. Data Breach Notification

In the unlikely event that Nexper systems are compromised and personal data is breached, we will notify affected individuals as required by law. Since Vector Studio operates locally and Nexper does not store project data, the impact of any breach of Nexper systems on your project data would be minimal.
